Resumo
Introdução: O Centro de Referência em Doença Falciforme (DF) do Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre é um dos dois centros de referência no estado do Rio Grande do Sul – Brasil, mas é o único onde a hidroxureia (HU) é dispensada no mesmo local e momento da consulta médica. A HU é utilizada em pacientes com DF para aumentar a qualidade de vida promovendo o crescimento da hemoglobina fetal (HbF). Durante a entrevista farmacêutica, a adesão à HU é analisada com base na quantidade de medicamento dispensada na consulta anterior e na quantidade que o paciente ainda possui quando retorna ao ambulatório. O objetivo desta investigação foi avaliar a adesão ao tratamento por meio de exames laboratoriais e da avaliação da adesão pelo farmacêutico. Abstract
Introduction: The Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) Reference Center (RC) at Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre is one of two RC in the state of Rio Grande do Sul – Brazil, but it is the only one where hydroxyurea (HU) is dispensed at the same place and time of the medical consultation. HU is used in SCD patients to increase quality of life by promoting fetal hemoglobin (HbF) growth. During the pharmaceutical interview, adherence to HU is analyzed based on the amount of medicine dispensed on the previous consultation and the amount the patient still has when he/she returns to the ambulatory.
