Abstract
Objective: This paper aims to contribute to inventory management, but mainly to the medication purchase schedule in a basic pharmacy in the city of Giruá, RS, and its main objective was to analyze the profile of medication consumption in this pharmacy. Methods: To this end, a quantitative retrospective observational study was carried out. Data were collected from medicines registered and dispensed from the computerized system Abase of pharmaceutical assistance in the municipality, in the years 2019 and 2021, in order to compare the period before and during the pandemic. Results: We found 120 drugs listed in the REMUME of the municipality, and the percentage of agreement between REMUME and RENAME was 70.8%. In addition, according to the ATC classification, the classes with the highest frequency in the drug list were: nervous system (27.5%), alimentary tract and metabolism (15.8%) and cardiovascular system (14.2%). Another relevant data was the realization of the ABC curve, which found that the drugs Amitriptyline 25 mg and Metoprolol 50 mg were classified as class A in the two years analyzed. Conclusions: Finally, it is concluded that it is necessary to carry out a correct management of stock, through the programming cycle, in addition to the realization of the ABC curve, to optimize the application of financial resources, avoiding unnecessary purchases, waste, shortages of medicines and, consequently, qualifying pharmaceutical assistance.
